Grocery Outlet in Poway! Giveaway!

May 21, 2014

Lindsay’s Tea Party took a recent trip down to the new Poway Grocery Outlet! I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I hadn’t heard of these Outlets before and I was skeptical of what would be found inside…. I am excited to share with you exactly what I found once I walked into the door! Samples of food
Poway Store
First off, Grocery Outlet in Poway carries great brand names in groceries, frozen foods, refrigerated items, housewares, health and beauty products, fine wines and much more, all at extremely low prices!! Each store is independently owned and operated. I met with the quite nice owners of this Poway location, Nika and Luis Pons. (pictured below)

Nika spent 5 years as an owner/operator of two Grocery Outlets in Modesto, CA. before moving to Poway.  They have three children, who work in the store as their school schedules permit.

I must say, not only is this a new store, it is also a very clean and very organized store. The shelves are organized, arranged and make products clearly visable while searching down the aisles. No products sold in this store are expired or near product date expiration. All products are dated normally, fresh and good. The store has a surprisingly large wine section with many labels or brands I recognized all for much lower prices. My friend Maryann found quite a few bottles she recognized!Wine sectionMaryann

The special includes items like:

  • Zico Tropical Flavored Coconut Water for $1.99, buy 1 get 1 Free
  • Tyson Bacon $4,99 Buy 1 get 1 Free
  • HoneyDew, Cantaloupe, or Watermelons for only $1.99 ea
  • 2 lb bag of Avocados for $1.99

As you can see they have regular grocery type items like fruit/veggies/meats and beverages. I did notice they carry quite a large selection of organic, natural and otherwise more healthy appealing products. For example, they had several organic vegetables we picked up including salads and more!

I found my favorite Greek Yogurts with toppings for nearly half the price I typically pay at my local grocer.

I will say that because certain items are found, they don’t have all the items you may need on your list. But a good suggestion is to shop their store first (Grocery Outlet) save as much on you can with the items you can find in their store, then shop your regular grocery store for any items that are left on your list. It will be a significant savings to you pocketbook!

Also, if it is not mandatory that purchase certain brands, but you are able to get a product you need by a different maker, then you likely will be able to purchase more items off of your list than one may think!

We here at LTP are big fans of stores like Ross or Marshall’s. We often find name brands we love for a lot less. This is precisely the same type of deal (although I will say their stores are much much more clean and organized). You may not be able to find all you need but you will find a lot of really great deals on things you need for a lot less than you would at the mainstream grocery store down the street.

Now comes your opportunity to try it for yourself!
