Clean Eating with Panera’s New Fresh Salads!

July 18, 2015

Clean Eating with Panera’s New Fresh Salads! / Lindsay’s Tea Party

This is a sponsored post by Panera and these opinions are 100% my own.

Lindsay’s Tea Party is committed to bringing our readers clean, healthy and fresh options featured on our sites. As an active, on-the-go Mom, I know first-hand how hard it can be to eat well and maintain the fast paced schedule that our family’s lifestyle is set to.

Panera Post 2 pic 1

I’m so pleased with all the new choices that my local Panera Bread is now offering. I am a self-proclaimed leaf eater! I love salads. I don’t even give it a second thought when I see that fresh salads are an option on the menu. It is almost always my go-to order!

Not only does Panera offer salads that I can feel good about ordering (they have no artificial flavors, colorings, sweeteners or preservatives) but they also have a seasonal menu that I end up craving until I go back!

Panera Post 2 pic 2

Artificial preservatives, colorings, sweeteners or flavors should never be in our food! Check out Panera’s No No List to see all the things that you are not putting into your body with their clean eating menu options.

The Fuji Apple Chicken Salad is my go-to-favorite! It’s hand-tossed and made to order plus the salad uses only the freshest ingredients like vine-ripened tomatoes, and crisp field greens. This salad creates a flavor combination as unique as it is delicious!

Panera Post 2 pic 3

The chicken is raised without antibiotics then mixed with fresh field greens, romaine lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, red onions, pecans, Gorgonzola cheese and apple chips and tossed in their white balsamic apple vinaigrette. It’s available in whole and half sizes. The half size is just enough for me and I am full afterwards but not too full. Plus you get to complete your meal with a choice of a fresh apple, baguette, roll or chips.

This is a pretty quick, easy and delicious way to stick to clean eating. Let me know some other ways you like to keep to a clean diet!

As the Editor of LTP, I receive promotional items and educational materials to use and share as I see fit. All opinions expressed are that of Lindsay’s Tea Party and are honest and reflect my actual experiences with Panera Bread. I would like to extend a special thank you to Panera Bread for the opportunity to review its yummy salad menu options and share my highlights with Lindsay’s Tea Party (LTP) readers.

Caposaldo Wine Review & Giveaway!

June 27, 2015

home-feature-imageLindsay’s Tea Party is so happy to share with our readers our fabulous new find for all your Summer entertaining & hospitality party needs! It’s Caposaldo Wine… today we are sampling a yummy sweet Moscato and an Italian Pinot Grigio! Take a peak…

Why try a Sweet Moscato?… here is just a few reasons we loved it.

SWEET MOSCATO

The grapes grow on the cool hilltops of northern Italy’s Lombardy region, where the northern-lying Alps shield the low-yielding hillside vineyards from harsh weather and the 20-year-old vines benefit from a superb blend of soils. During harvest, the fruit is carefully handpicked.

TASTING NOTE

Bright gold in color, this sweet wine delivers intense pear, peach and spice aromas and flavors, and fresh, vivacious bubbles.

FOOD PAIRING

Enjoy with fruit pies and tarts, fruit cobblers or fresh strawberries, peaches or raspberries.

TECHNICAL DATA

– GRAPES: 100% Moscato Bianco
– APPELLATION: Italy
– PH: 3.2
– ACIDITY: 6.2 g/l
– ABV: 7%
– RESIDUAL SUGAR: 90 g/l

POINTS OF DISTINCTION

– Lightly sweet—with 90 g/l residual sugar compared to Caposaldo Moscato’s 110 g/l
– A preferred natural second fermentation results in a superior effervescence.
– Perfect with any fruit dessert
– Contains about half the alcohol of most white wines

We decided to have a little staff party and paired the Sweet Moscato with our desserts, a strawberry trifle with heavy cream and a chocolate pudding parfait with raspberries! What a treat!.

Lastly we sampled some Italian flavor and chose the 2014 Pinot Grigio.

PINOT GRIGIO VENETO IGT

In northern Italy’s Veneto region, near Venice, the Pinot Grigio vines are planted on hillside vineyards situated 750 feet above sea level, where they benefit from well-drained, mineral rich, volcanic basaltic rock and chalky clay soils. Handpicking and cold fermentation promotes fresh acidity, and the wine is not oak aged, allowing the grapes’ varietal character to remain prominent.

TASTING NOTE

Features a dry, crisp, vibrant texture and delicate aromas of white fruit, flowers and almonds.

FOOD PAIRING

Pairs well with white meats, fish, seafood, pasta dishes and delicate cheeses.

TECHNICAL DATA

– GRAPES: Pinot Grigio
– APPELLATION: Veneto IGT
– PH: 3.34
– ACIDITY: 6 g/l
– ABV: 12.5%
– AGING: Stainless steel

POINTS OF DISTINCTION

– A fresh, oak-free, varietally correct Pinot Grigio
– 100% handpicked grapes
– A classic Italian wine at an accessible price

This is a great find to bring to your next Summer BBQ or evening dinner at the neighbors house. It’s affordable, liked by many, and makes a great impression to your host.
LTP now wants to give one lucky reader the chance to sample some fabulous #Caposaldo wines on their own!  Participate in our Rafflecopter entries below for a chance to win! No purchase is necessary. LTP will coordinate prize redemption.

The London Bakery~ Review!

April 15, 2015

Lindsay’s Tea Party is so pleased to share one of our new most favorite places to order local British baked goods from, The London Bakery! Jo Paige, is the fabulous British Baker, behind the name (The London Bakery) and she brings a wealth of knowledge with her to East County, San Diego. Jo’s Mother, was a pastry Chef for many years in London, England, and raised Jo in the kitchen, with the fresh aroma of warm pastries daily!

The London Bakery offers the “best of the British” baked goods and savories and a wide array of seasonal specials. One of her fabulous finds is the array of the homemade (and hand sealed) mason jar jams! Flavors include: (but not limited to) Raspberry & Jalapeno, Pineapple & Habanero, Papaya & Lime, Strawberry & Chai Seed, Pina Colada, Strawberry, Balsamic, Black Pepper, Club Tropicana, and Blackberry & Cabernet, as well as traditional house Lemon Curd. You can visit The London Bakery on FB for seasonal specials.

The Lemon Curd is also used in the delightful and towering Luscious Lemon Curd Cake!

Next up are her famous Scones! My family adores scones (even my 3 children), we make scones weekly and sometimes even daily. We always make them fresh and now that we have found The London Bakery, I believe we are going to need to pick up some of hers on a regular basis. They are delicious. They are the traditional style, English scones, not too sweet, and has just the right amount of texture. They truly melt in your mouth. Best served with one of her famous jams or lemon curd, and seasonally, she will offer her Devonshire Cream to go with (which is just divine and freshly made in her kitchen).

Next up is homemade Shortbread! This shortbread might, quite possibly, be the best thing my mouth has ever tasted!!! I know she makes it in a variety of seasonal flavors and I recently sampled the plain recipe. It is so tender yet crisp and just right the amount of pastry sensation as it hits your tongue. I dunked mine in lemon curd, then in Devonshire cream, then in strawberry jam and, oops, it was gone!!! I had intended for my family members to also sample it, however, I couldn’t help myself. This is the perfect midday snack, lovely dessert tray for a party, or fabulous addition to your next afternoon tea party!
