Our Biggest Tea Party Yet!!

Lindsay’s Tea Party recently hosted a Mother/Daughter afternoon Tea in honor of Mother’s Day in May. Over 150 ladies and little ladies gathered in the San Vicente Country Club located in the San Diego Country Estates. One of the best parts of this unique afternoon tea is the various themed tables throughout the room. This year there were 15 stunningly themed tables and we are thrilled to have had a professional photographer, Mrs. Deena Cormier Photography to capture the essence of each theme!

This table had birds, eggs and the essence of Springtime bursting from the table!

Next was a popular inspired, Alice in Wonderland (Mad Hatter themed table)…

When life gives you lemons…what a bright and cheerful table this was!

Visions of gold and stunning floral pots at each place setting!

The flower topiary at this table left such a statement, bursting with color!

A vintage inspired tea with a chevron twist!

Christmas Tea at the Grand Tea Room~ & Giveaway!

The Christmas season is upon us and before we know it we will all be ringing in the New Year! Whew! But not yet! First, we must savor what Lindsay’s Tea Party considers to be the most magical time of year… Christmas!

As the cooler temperatures roll in, so does the desire to cozy up with your family and friends with a warm cuppa. I can’t think of a better time of year to break from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and gather for some tea and fellowship.

This year LTP will be having it’s Annual Christmas Tea Party at the lovely Grand Tea Room in Escondido, CA. What a lovely place this is for groups both big and small to gather during the most wonderful time of year.

From the moment you walk into the Grand Tea Room, you sense the feeling of British royalty or dining with the elite from Downton Abbey. Crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling, bright white mouldings line the walls and waitresses wearing black clothing with crisp white aprons carrying beautiful English china cups and teapots from table to table.

The mood is tranquil, the background is upbeat classical, the room is clean and organized yet still gives you a sense of warmth and comfort and allows you to feel the grace and sense the warmth that surrounds you.

The afternoon tea portions are plentiful and the courses are all quite good. One may dress up for the tea or the Tea Room does have a variety of hats to wear upon arrival as well.

Spring has sprung with Giggle Moon! ~Review!

The purpose of Giggle Moon is to glorify God thru love, joy, and laughter. They strive to bring joy into all the lives they encounter. Their clothes are designed with much love and thought.

As they design, they see the beautiful faces God created, and that inspires their every detail.

Giggle Moon is cotton grown and knitted in the USA. All the sewing is done in California with special care.

Giggle Moon girls have a heart for women and children who are in great need. All unsold clothing is donated to worthy causes and are a blessing to many. Every leftover piece is an opportunity to share and love others.

“Behold, children are a gift of the Lord.” Psalm 127:3

A Tiny Valentine’s Tea!

Last month Lindsay’s Tea Party threw an extraordinary “Tiny Valentine’s Tea”! This tea party was special because it was created for approximately 25 preschoolers! I found the perfect 1/2 cup teacups in various floral patterns, heart shaped doilies, tiered trays and tiny teapot placecards.

We began the lunch with a special reading of Fancy Nancy’s Tea Parties book by Jane O’Connor

In order to fit the flavor of my young guests, I decided to serve apple juice which looks very similar to the appearance of actual tea, however offers a flavor most 4 & 5 year olds enjoy and are accustomed to.

The menu included tiny heart shaped sandwiches filled with peanut butter and jelly or turkey and cheese (minus the crust of course). Paired with fresh fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, and red grapes, all coordinating with the red/pink pallet for Valentine’s Day.

Also served were heart shaped buttermilk scones, strawberry jam and lemon curd, with whipped cream (tinted pink).

Desserts included heart shaped rice krispy treats (a popular preschool favorite), mini muffins, frosting decorated cut out cookies with sprinkles, powdered sugar white donut balls, and a mini teapot shaped cookie as their favor wrapped for later!

The Grand Tea Room Review & Giveaway!

Lindsay’s Tea Party is known to visit some of the best and brightest tea rooms in San Diego, CA, and this stop is no exception. Recently, LTP took a visit for afternoon tea at The Grand Tea Room! The Grand is a full service tea room and gift shop located in the historical downtown district of Escondido, California. It is elegant, cozy and filled with ambiance, the perfect setting for a private party or a nice relaxing afternoon treat with friends and family.

When you first arrive, you feel relaxed and embraced by the beautifully white decor, clean and crisp linens and welcoming mural paintings throughout. We have visited this tea room many times but this visit becomes a special one as I brought my daughter’s to experience the wonder and lavishness that comes with an exquisite afternoon tea such as the Grand offers.

We began with selecting 3 teas to try. We chose the Paris Tea, the Creme Brulee Tea and the Pina Colada Tea! All were flavorful and fragrant and my daughter’s loved that the Pina Colada tea came steeped in a lovely shade of pink! The Grand also offers a lovely wine list as well which is nice.

Tea times at The Grand are offered at:

1:30 pm

4:00 pm

Although for special times or parties, call ahead to reserve for your needs.
