home-feature-imageLindsay’s Tea Party is so happy to share with our readers our fabulous new find for all your Summer entertaining & hospitality party needs! It’s Caposaldo Wine… today we are sampling a yummy sweet Moscato and an Italian Pinot Grigio! Take a peak…

Why try a Sweet Moscato?… here is just a few reasons we loved it.

SWEET MOSCATO

The grapes grow on the cool hilltops of northern Italy’s Lombardy region, where the northern-lying Alps shield the low-yielding hillside vineyards from harsh weather and the 20-year-old vines benefit from a superb blend of soils. During harvest, the fruit is carefully handpicked.

TASTING NOTE

Bright gold in color, this sweet wine delivers intense pear, peach and spice aromas and flavors, and fresh, vivacious bubbles.

FOOD PAIRING

Enjoy with fruit pies and tarts, fruit cobblers or fresh strawberries, peaches or raspberries.

TECHNICAL DATA

– GRAPES: 100% Moscato Bianco
– APPELLATION: Italy
– PH: 3.2
– ACIDITY: 6.2 g/l
– ABV: 7%
– RESIDUAL SUGAR: 90 g/l

POINTS OF DISTINCTION

– Lightly sweet—with 90 g/l residual sugar compared to Caposaldo Moscato’s 110 g/l
– A preferred natural second fermentation results in a superior effervescence.
– Perfect with any fruit dessert
– Contains about half the alcohol of most white wines

We decided to have a little staff party and paired the Sweet Moscato with our desserts, a strawberry trifle with heavy cream and a chocolate pudding parfait with raspberries! What a treat!.

Lastly we sampled some Italian flavor and chose the 2014 Pinot Grigio.

PINOT GRIGIO VENETO IGT

In northern Italy’s Veneto region, near Venice, the Pinot Grigio vines are planted on hillside vineyards situated 750 feet above sea level, where they benefit from well-drained, mineral rich, volcanic basaltic rock and chalky clay soils. Handpicking and cold fermentation promotes fresh acidity, and the wine is not oak aged, allowing the grapes’ varietal character to remain prominent.

TASTING NOTE

Features a dry, crisp, vibrant texture and delicate aromas of white fruit, flowers and almonds.

FOOD PAIRING

Pairs well with white meats, fish, seafood, pasta dishes and delicate cheeses.

TECHNICAL DATA

– GRAPES: Pinot Grigio
– APPELLATION: Veneto IGT
– PH: 3.34
– ACIDITY: 6 g/l
– ABV: 12.5%
– AGING: Stainless steel

POINTS OF DISTINCTION

– A fresh, oak-free, varietally correct Pinot Grigio
